Bachelor programme’s course „European business environment”

The aim of this Bachelor programme’s course was to support Economics Bachelor students and graduates’ acquisition of specialized knowledge that is necessary for an efficient approach to the European business environment. The course participants were educated on how to apply the newly-acquired knowledge in their future career, increasing thus, the efficiency and high economic performance of their organizations.

Course contents:

Chapter I.  Business economy overview;;

1.1: Macro-economic outlook;

1.2: Structural profile of the business economy;

1.3: Expenditure, productivity and profitability;

1.4: Enterprise demography and size class analysis;

1.5: Employment characteristics;

1.6: Evolution of production, employment and turnover;

1.7: External trade;

Chapter II. EU Single Market Policies (four freedoms);

Chapter III. EU business environment;

        3.1 Company and Competition Policy;

        3.2. Accounting and Auditing;

        3.3. Public procurement;

        3.4. Social entrepreneurship.

Objectives of this Bachelor programme’s course were:

-  To obtain fundamental knowledge on EU Single Market policies and framework;

- To get understanding of the Four freedoms of movements within EU Single Market and mechanism of functioning;

- To create abilities and skills necessary for the analysing of the regulatory environment within business can operate in the EU;

- To be able to understand the harmonisation of the rules relating Company Law and Corporate governance, as well as to Accounting and Auditing, as a key elements of the EU business environment;

- To get knowledge on Public procurement that aims to increase competition and transparency in a key sector of the European economy;

- To get information on social entrepreneurship and of the social economy at large.

    The programme’s course „European Economic Integration” was intended for the first cycle (Bachelor) students. This course was designed for 3 years and was delivered during the first semester in each academic year in the period of 2013-2015. The Bachelor programme’s course already had been attended by 120 students from the Faculty of  Business and Administration.
